Cannes
Occupying the entire top frontage of a traditional provencal house this charming two bedroom apartment is both the perfect startpoint for a visitor newly discovering the unique charms of the cote d'Azur and the ideal base for a seasoned lover of the Riviera. It is located on a quiet sidestreet just off the boutique-laden rue d'Antibes, two blocks from La Croisette boulevard and the beach. The Festival Palais, the old port, Le Suquet; all are but a few hundred steps from your front door, while some of the finest restaurants and most uber-chic nightspots are also but a stone's throw away.
The living room, with its modest but nonetheless clear sea-view, is equipped with sofas, glass and wrought iron tables and full entertainment centre (including cable/satellite television, stereo with CD player and iPod dock). Attached is a dining area with seating for five beyond which one finds an open-plan kitchen with breakfast counter, surface of grey polished marble and all kitchen equipment necessary to prepare one's own haute-cuisine. Glassware and dishes decorated in Provencal style lend a rusticity to even the most everyday of repasts.
There are two bedrooms. The first, decorated with a Mediterranean sky-blue theme, is extremely spacious and adorned with a luxuriant kingsize bed and en-suite tiled bathroom with a bathtub and attached powershower. The second bedroom is themed sea-green and, since it is south-facing, catches more than its share of brilliant cote d'Azur sunshine. It has two single beds that can be attached to make one queensize depending on the needs of our guests. The second bathroom has a newly fitted shower cubicle with specially fitted Spa-quality pump for superpowerful waterflow. The apartment has a nook, covered by a tapestry, in which is set a washing machine and dryer and throughout one finds double glazing on all windows. The walls are thick, old-school - built to last - and thus the apartment can be cosetted to a serene quietude despite its position in the middle of the Riviera's most densely cosmpolitan quarter.
